Student Representative to the School Board

Students in grades 11 or 12 interested in representing the voice of students and learning more about how our District is governed are encouraged to apply to be a Student Representative to the School Board.

Student Representatives serve for one school year beginning in October and provide valuable student perspectives during the Board's regular meetings. Representatives are encouraged to participate in discussions, answer questions, and communicate Board actions and topics of interest with students at their high school. While Student Representatives do not vote or attend closed sessions, they play an important role in ensuring student voices are heard.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be in 11th or 12th grade during the 2026-27 school year

  • Be prepared to attend monthly Board meetings and meetings with District administration before each Board meeting

  • Review meeting materials in advance and actively participate in discussions

  • Represent the interests of all District students and communicate important Board information with their school community

Selection includes an application, four recommendations, and an interview with a Board member and District administrator.
